A collection of baby friendly luxury holiday cottages, around a magnificent indoor pool and Spa complex & large child-friendly indoor Playbarn, set in a private Country estate.
The Flear estate is set amongst the rolling hills of the South Hams in South Devon. It is a cluster of luxury period holiday cottages protected and carefully restored to family-friendly properties. It is surrounded by 27 acres of beautiful private countryside, including Flear Wood. Our small river flows into the Kingsbridge estuary towards sandy beaches and the sea beyond. Flear is a peaceful baby and toddler friendly environment, the perfect getaway for children young and old.
Our facilities are exceptional here at Flear and offer a huge amount to our visiting families all seasons, all weathers! Our magnificent indoor swimming pool & Spa complex, with Sun terrace and Hot Tub and giant indoor Playbarn are perfect for rainy days or dropping-in for some family leisure time without the need for an agenda. The outdoor playground and paddocks are beautiful, relaxing spaces. For those who have more energy, why not take a turn on the Pitch & Putt course or stroll to our court for a game or two of tennis? Our ponies Abby and Yara are always around and there are beautiful walks in the valley and through Flear Wood.
The nearby stunning beaches and coastline almost surround us here, to the South, East and West. The Island climate of the South Hams is one of the mildest in the UK and connects to the rest of Devon via Dartmoor National Park to the North. The pretty town of Kingsbridge, with its cafés, restaurants and quirky shops is only a 10-minute drive. The nearest village boasts an excellent family-friendly gastro pub, within a pleasant mile or so’s walk.
It is an ideal luxury holiday location if you want to leave behind the strains of city living and relax in a peaceful rural setting. You can wander along pretty streams, explore our rambling woods and trek over undulating hills or find a different sandy beach each day. In spring, a sea of bluebells carpets the woodland floor and buttercups fill our meadows. in summer a range of blooming flowers decorate the gardens of Flear, and in autumn the apple orchard is laden with fruit, while wild garlic & horse chestnuts, sloes & blackberries abound.
