Are you looking for a cottage that sleeps 10? As large holiday homes in Devon go, Flear House is hard to beat. A large Georgian farmhouse which has been superbly refurbished and decorated throughout, Flear House is ideal for the larger family or a group of friends looking for baby or child-friendly accommodation year-round. What better place to celebrate that special birthday or simply get together because you haven’t seen each other for a while?

This large holiday home with private pool (heated, of course!), is set in lawned gardens overlooking our beautiful valley; the perfect backdrop for those special celebration photos. The outdoor pool is open from early May to the end of September.

But it’s not just the grounds, indoors at Flear House is sure to delight too – in fact you may find that when you arrive you want to stay forever.

Walk through the pillared entrance into a superb dining hall with large inglenook fireplace, explore the elegant drawing room complete with its marble fireplace, and curl up in front of the fire in the snug. There you’ll find a TV, DVD player and a selection of toys and films to keep the little ones occupied.

Flear House boasts an enormous well-equipped kitchen with eat-in breakfast area, complete with Aga and electric and gas cookers. And leading from the kitchen you’ll find an enclosed courtyard with table as well as the large patio with a three-burner gas BBQ and seating for ten overlooking the heated outdoor swimming pool - exclusively for guests of Flear House.

Meanwhile, the grand oak staircase will take you up to a galleried landing where the bedrooms that lead off are all spacious and tastefully decorated. The huge master suite has a 6ft bed, its own dressing room and even an en suite jacuzzi bath. There are two bedrooms each with 5 ft beds and both with en suite facilities, and two further bedrooms each with two twin beds. There is also a large shower room and WC.

When it’s a special occasion we know that the holiday accommodation you choose is crucial to the success of the whole event. That’s why nothing is too much trouble. We’ll provide you with swimming towels, help with contacts for babysitters if necessary and even provide details of recommended caterers should you wish to outsource the cooking.

And of course, you’re welcome to enjoy all the rest of the facilities Flear Farm has to offer. From the kids’ playbarn to the spa, tennis court and 27-acre grounds. All but a short walk from your front door.

Thank you so much for making our family Christmas weekend in Flear House so wonderful. The house is beautiful and with all the Christmas decorations and the stunning Christmas trees which you kindly provided, it was very special indeed. This was our second visit to Flear Farm and I'm sure it'll not be our last.

As always, the play barn, swimming pool, tennis courts, woodland walks etc were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Merry Christmas to you and the boys.

“Hi Barney, Camilla and Bridget

I just wanted to say another thank you to you all for our stay at Flear House last week. We all had the most wonderful week, and for a three generation family that is certainly an achievement. I truly think you have thought of everything and we all really appreciated the high quality of everything in the house, from kitchen appliances to bathrooms and to beautiful beds and bedding. Everything in the house, combined with the fantastic facilities around the site, made for a truly wonderful and relaxing week. The grandchildren had a brilliant time with the play barn, the indoor pool and meeting the animals . The lovely weather was also a bonus and we were able to make full use of the pool and barbeque.

You may remember that when we were there my daughter Alexa and her husband were due to have their first baby. Well they made it back to Bristol in good time and on Wednesday this week they had a beautiful little boy. Mum and baby are both doing very well. It was so lovely for Alexa that her last week before becoming a mum was spent in such an amazing place and that she left feeling completely calm and relaxed.
